Apple Dapple Cake
From the kitchen of Carol and Nelson Allen
3 eggs |
3 cups of all purpose flour |
1 ½ cup salad oil |
1 tsp. soda |
2 cups sugar |
1 tsp. salt |
1 ½ cup chopped walnuts |
2 tsp. vanilla |
3 cups of chopped tart apples |

Mix eggs, oil, and sugar. Blend well. Sift flour, salt, and soda: add to the eggs mixture. Add vanilla, apples, and walnuts. Pour into greased tube cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. While cake is still hot, pour hot topping over it while it is still in pan. Let cool completely before removing from pan.
Topping:
1 stick butter |
1 cup brown sugar |
¼ cup milk |
Combine all ingredients. Cook 2½ minutes. Pour over cake in pan.
